The Senegalese Association for Standardization (ASN) celebrated on November 11, 2022 the World Day for Standardization in collaboration with the African Development Bank through the Institutional Support Project for the Mobilization of Resources and the Attractiveness of Investments (PAIMRAI ).

The opening ceremony was chaired by the SG of the Ministry of Industrial Development and SMIs, in the presence of the Representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Coordinator of the Institutional Support Project for Mobilization of Resources and the Attractiveness of Investments (PAIMRAI).

 The celebration of this 53rd edition, the theme of which was: “A common vision for a better world”, made it possible to raise awareness of the essential principles of standardization and the role of standards for economic, social and environmental development; to stimulate reflection on the strategic issues of the National Quality Policy for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by Senegal and to discuss the next ASN strategic plan.

But also, to pay tribute to the efforts made by the hundreds of experts, members of the Technical Standardization Committees, who develop national standards.

 A symbolic presentation of diplomas of honor was therefore granted to certain experts of the standardization technical committee for their dedication and self-sacrifice in the service of standardization.

 The Director General of ASN also took the opportunity to announce the celebration of quality days which will take place from 20 to 22 December in the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic Macky Sall.
